到海外出差，英文別說錯！

同事到海外出差，問對方要住幾天，不能說 ：How long will you live? 這種短暫的「住」不是live，而是stay。這句話可以說成：

How long are you staying? 

How long will you be staying? 可以回答：I’ll be staying for 3 days.

 來看看和出差相關的常見英文錯誤：

1. 我想拜訪Margret 小姐。(在櫃台前和服務人員的對話)

(X) I would like to visit Ms. Margret.

(O) I am here to see Ms. Margret.

Visit和See都有探望、拜訪的意思，如果是計畫拜訪某位客戶，你可以說I plan to visit some potential clients next week. 但已經到門口，約好的，就用see。

2. 我要到加拿大出差。

(X) I am going on a business trip to Canada 

(O) I'm going to Canada on business.

出差英文叫做go on a business trip沒錯，但英文習慣先講重點，到加拿大出差是重點，所以就說”go to Canada on business”。

3. 你不知道這次出差行程安排的有多緊湊。

(X) You don't know how busy the schedule is for this business trip.

(O) You don't know how tight the schedule is for this business trip.

人很忙用busy，行程很緊湊用tight。

4. 我以前從來沒有來過這裡。

(X) I have never been here before.

(O) I had never been here.

既然用"here"，表示我們的人一定在那兒，明明人已經在那兒又說沒有到過那兒，有點矛盾。用過去完成式，以前沒來過就合理了。〈資料來源：世界公民文化中心〉
